During the 2nd televised GOP Gubernatorial Primary debate Joe Lombardo stated that he would “consider… through a pro-life lens,” mandatory waiting periods, contraception, and overturning Nevada statutory abortion protections.
Following the leaked Supreme Court draft decision, Lombardo stated again that he is, “pro-life” but gave no further detail about how he would govern.
When asked about a 13-week abortion ban, with exceptions for incest, rape, and health of the mother, Lombardo indicated he would support it.
PRIMARY DEBATE REMARKS:
MODERATOR: “Would you support perhaps adding parental notification laws, waiting periods before ending a pregnancy, or other restrictions, maybe like on the Plan B pills, Mr. Lombardo?”
LOMBARDO: “Yes, absolutely. I would take that under consideration. First and foremost, I’m a pro-life. Legislation that would come or bill or resolution that would come before my desk…I would look at it with a pro-life lens. With that being said, I would take under consideration everything associated with the pro-life view moving forward.”
